St. John's Christian Preschool

St. John's Christian Preschool was established in 1980. We are proud of the many years of providing a safe and nurturing environment for learning and play to the children of Mokena and many surrounding communities. The very loving and capable staff provides a variety of activities to encourage and stimulate the spiritual and academic growth of each child. We are now teaching the next generation, as our first “preschoolers” are now bringing their own children to us.

PROGRAMS AVAILABLE:

A 5-day program is offered for 4 and 5 year olds and a 3-day program for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. A 2-day program is also available on Tuesday & Thursday. Morning classes are 9 - 11:30 am and afternoon classes are 12:30 - 3:00 pm.

The monthly fees for the 2011-2012 school year are:

5 day $200/month
3 day $120/month
2 day $105/month

There is a one time, non-refundable $75 registration fee paid at the time of registration.

The preschool offers a unit-based curriculum which includes learning academic skills, music, motor skills, art, games and socialization skills. As a Christian preschool, we teach Christian values by reading Bible stories, praying at snack time, singing Christian songs and memorizing simple Bible verses, along with our favorite childhood stories and songs. Each class presents two musical programs to family and friends per year.

The children go on two field trips during the school year. One trip is in the fall and the other in the spring to view a live play at an area theater. Our location in the middle of Mokena allows for walks to enjoy the fresh air and we also have our own playground for outdoor play and exercise.
