Youth Programs

Sunday Morning Kid's Club

Each Sunday, childcare is provided for infants through 3rd graders. Nursery is provided for infants - preschoolers. Youth in Kindergarten through 3rd grade are invited to participate in our Sunday Morning Kid's Club. The children will enjoy a variety of activities while their parents attend worship service.

At St. John's, children in 4th grade and older are encouraged to attend our 9:30 church service to worship with their families. This service is designed with families in mind and offers something for everyone. Throughout the year, different youth groups will participate in the service in a variety of ways. Interactive youth bulletins will be available during each worship service.

Young Shepherd's Club

This group will meet on the second and third Sundays of the month during our 9:30 service. All children in 3rd - 5th Grade are invited to attend.

Wednesday Night J.A.M. Time

Our Wednesday Night JAM Time (Jesus And Me) will begin on September 21st and will meet every Wednesday night (with the exception of a few holidays). This program is for all children in preschool through 5th Grade. Here is what is happening on Wednesday nights at St. John's:

6:00-6:30 optional dinner time ($3 per person)
Grades PreK-1
- 6:30-7:00 Bible Time in the classroom
- 7:00-7:15 Recreation in the CCC
- 7:15-7:45 Continued Bible time in the classroom
- 7:45 Parent pick up in the classroom
Grades 2 through 5:
- 6:30-6:45 Recreation Time in the CCC
- 6:45-7:45 Bible Time in the classrooms
- 7:45 Parents pick-up in the classrooms

The kids are divided by age into 4 different classrooms: preschool, kdg/1st grade, 2nd/3rd grade, and 4th/5th grade. All are invited to join our youth activities. We look forward to seeing you at JAM Time!

VOLUNTEERS are always welcome to help with this church ministry. Without you there isn't an opportunity for young children to learn the word of GOD. Come to a volunteer meeting on Sept. 12 at 7:00 in Fellowship Hall if you are interested. We are looking for people who are interested in only committing to 3 months during the year and we will rotate you out. Sunday Night Junior and Senior High Fellowship

We invite all Junior and Senior High youth to join us every Sunday night from 6:00-8:00pm in the Christian Community Center. Beginning at 6:00pm, we share a meal as a group ($3 per person). At 6:30, the Junior and Senior High groups meet separately. During the evening, we discuss topics that the youth have expressed interest in exploring, play games and other activities, plan for upcoming outings and retreats, and learn more about what it means to be in a relationship with Christ.

Vacation Bible School

Every summer, children from Mokena and many surrounding communities enjoy a week of fun lessons, games and snacks at our Vacation Bible School. The annual "Penny Wars" has raised thousands of dollars for Love Without Boundaries, an organization that provides medical care, education, foster care, and nutrition for orphans in China.
